Frequently asked questions
Does Canary change anything on my website?
No. Canary is strictly read-only — it visits your pages like a normal visitor and reads them. It never logs in, changes nothing, uploads nothing.
How does it differ from Google Search Console?
GSC is great, but slow and passive: technical issues often only surface days to weeks later and are buried deep. Canary checks actively every day and emails the same day — and only for new, verified serious issues. The comparison.
Won't I get constant emails?
No — that's the whole point. Canary only alerts you when a new serious regression appears that wasn't there before. Minor details and persistent states don't trigger an email.
What data do you store?
For monitoring: your email + the monitored URL. For the free check: the checked URL + the result. More in the privacy policy.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, with a single click from any email or in the dashboard. No commitment.
Does it also work on sites with bot protection (Cloudflare etc.)?
Usually yes. If a site blocks unknown bots, Canary detects this and does not falsely report it as broken, but instead flags the bot protection.
